Station configuration

To start our first export, we need to fo through a few configurations steps.
The first step will creating and configuring a Station.

Concept

A station represents a destination for our data.
Just like a train station, our connector station can accept different kinds of payloads, which we will configure later.
Each shop-system or custom system URL (e.g. for JSON or XML) will need it’s own station.
The station configuration will contain information about where and how to send the data. It will also contain information such as authentication credentials.

Creating Your First Station

Go ahead and create a new station now. If you don’t know where to look for the button, check out the previous tutorial about the station overview.
A new Dialog should open:

Name

Here you can name your new station. We recommend choosing descriptive names for all your configurations, so you can remember which configuration does what.

Application

Select which SAWS_Connector to use for the station.

Datamap Selection

You can either create a new Datamap or use an existing one.
Datamaps will be covered in a seperate tutorial.

New Datamap

This field is used to name the new Datamap, which will be created together with the station.
Datamaps are covered in a seperate tutorial.

Application Instance

You can use this option to specify what this station will be used for.

  • Development
  • Testing
  • Production

This is purely cosmetc and does not change any behaviour.

Color

You can use different colours to visually group stations.

Sample Dialog

Here you can see an example of how to create a new station for the JSON-Conenctor:

The Component Overview

After clicking OK in the creation dialog, you should be greeted by a new window, containing an overview of a single station.

Configure Station

Click here to configure your station:

Duplicate Station

You can duplicate your station in case you want to add another system with similar configuration.

Add New Datamap

Adding a new datamap can be achieved with one of these buttons.

Add New Job

Add a new Job by clicking on one of there buttons:
Jobs are covered in a seperate tutorial.

Check Station for issues

Running a station check can help you to find errors in a seemingly correct configuration.
We recommend not running any checks before completing your configuration, so you won’t be bombarded with Errors.

Import / Export

These two buttons allow you to create and import Backups of your station and all of it’s datamaps and jobs.
Backups are covered in a seperate tutorial.

Component Status

These little, coloured circles can notify you about issues with your current configurations. Click on them to get more info.

Edit Datamap

Click here to edit the corresponding datamap.

Edit Job

Use this button to edit a job.

Configuring Your Station

Go ahead and open your station configuration now.

Overview

Click here to return to the component overview to see all associated datamaps and jobs.

Import / Export

These two buttons allow you to create and import Backups of your station and all of it’s datamaps and jobs.
It has the exact same function as the one in the component overview.
Backups are covered in a seperate tutorial.

Active

This switch can be used to stop exports from this station.

External Key

The External Key is mostly unused. It might come in Handy if you want to write a custom activescript for editing stations.
If you don’t use it in any of your own configurations you can leave it empty.

Data Sources

Datamaps

If you already have a Station and want to reuse one of it’s datamaps, you can link it using this option.

Root nodemaps

Use this option to determine which part of your PIM or MAM a datamap has access to.
This option will be covered again in the datamap-tutorial.

Rights

You can limit access to the station here. This might be useful if you want to enforce strict permissions.

Data transmission

The settings in this tab are handled by the connector you are using (XML, JSON, Shopware, etc.).
For information on how to configure this tab, please refer to the category corresponding to your connector.
