Export Smart Document via Active Script and assign output to product

Data sheets are often generated within the CS PIM via Smartdocuments. To ensure that these are also transferred to the shop in the respective language, the finished data sheets must be referenced to the product and of course also recreated if data on the product has changed.

To simplify and automate this, we have created an ActiveScript that simplifies the creation, storage and allocation (version 1.16 or later required).

Create new Bookmark for products

In the first step, create a favorite that filters out all PIM objects for which data sheets are to be created. Filter down as much as possible so that data sheets are only created for objects for which they are needed!

For example, all objects that have an item number, are not folders and have the workflow status online.

Afterwards, save the search as a favorite so that we can use it later in the Active Script.

Create new Active Script

Now create a new Active Script and select the plugin “SC::Create Smart Documents for Products”.

Select the Smart Document Preset for the export, the root node of the PIM, the favorite and the storage folder in the MAM.
You can also set the final file name and the languages for which the documents are to be created.

Optionally, you can set at which PIM attribute the MAM file should be assigned. Attention, since the creation is language-dependent, the reference attribute must also be set to language-dependent!

The Result

When you start the script, all products below the set root node that correspond to the bookmark are searched for. The documents for these products are then created in the set languages, stored in the MAM and, if necessary, assigned to the product.

Also, you should see the MAM file referenced on the product in the selected languages.
