Synchronizing references that are not contained in views

As of SAWSConnector Basic version 1.7.x and higher, you can also synchronize references (related products, up- and cross-sell products) that are not contained as a dedicated product in your views. That way, you do not have to drag and drop them to your category structure in the views.

In your mapping table, navigate to the general settings tab and go to the section “Load references objects”:

There are 2 settings available:

Attributes that reference other objects: this is where you indicate the PIM reference attributes that contain your spare parts, cross-selling products etc. It is one or several “Reference to PIM product” attribute(s).

Reference levels: this is where you indicate how far “down” into a reference you wish referenced products to be loaded. For example, if your reference contains spare parts that in turn have no spare parts set, the option “1. First level only” would be sufficient, so the SAWSConnector will additionally load the products referenced in your indicated attribute and look no further. However, if your indicated attribute contains cross selling products that in turn also contain references to other products that in turn contain other products etc. it may be necessary to go deeper into the reference loops. You can set up to 5 levels.

No further settings are necassary. If product A is part of your view structure and contains references to products B and C in the attribute you indicated but products B and C are not contained within your view structure, the SAWSConnector will additionally search and load all values you defined in your data map for products B and C and simulate that they are part of the view structure.

Please note:

If you use incremental jobs (with settings such as “Synchronize all changes within {specific timeframe}”, the references will only be considered if your “main product” (the one contained within your view structure) has changed within the set time frame. Only the “last change date” of the main product will be considered for synchronization. If a referenced changed but the main product did not, no synchronization will take place.

If you work with language dependend reference attributes, all products set for any language will be searched, loaded and synchronized. If you wish to avoid synchronizing references from a certain language setting, please use the language filter in your job!
