Owl – Share a secret

Safety is a top priority at SAWS. In today’s IT world, access data must often be exchanged between customers, partners and suppliers. This can be passwords, API keys, links or other sensitive information.

With our “Secret Exchange” tile, you can encrypt this information and distribute access via link. You can also protect the link with a password.
Attention: The link can then only be opened once and is only valid for the specified period.

The usage is not limited to SAWSConnector related issues. You can use it, whenever you want. Let’s make IT world a little bit safer.

Create a secret

First, you have to enter the secret and a short cover letter in the text box. If you want to format the message more nicely, you can also use the editor button and format the message (bold, italic, etc…) via a wiki editor.

If you want to encrypt the link additionally via a password, enter it via the button. Once a password is set, the recipient must also know the password for the secret. This can then be transmitted to the recipient by a different method than the link (e.g. link by e-mail, password by telephone).

You can also attach attachments to the secret, such as secret document, instructions or VPN settings….

Share the secret

When your message is ready, press the button “Create Link” and send the link to the respective recipient. This can be done by e-mail, for example. Be aware that the link can be opened only once, i.e. sending the information to several users usually makes no sense!

The recipient can now open the link (as the case may be, with password) and copy the secret to his/her clipboard.
