Create the DAM-Attribute

In contentserv open up the DAM and navigate to the “Attributes” section. There you can create a new attribute for the preset. The attribute needs to be of type “Automatic DAM Image Cropping”. There you can also change the Aspect Ratio used for the export.

Create the preset

After creating the DAM-Attribute, navigate to “Presets”. Here you can create a new preset. Choose the “SC::Dynamic Image Crop Preset” as Export preset plugin.

You can now start configuring your preset values like height, width and image format.
At the Bottom of the Configuration you need to select the DAM-Attribute created in Step 1. This is required.

Finish attribute configuration

After saving your preset, go back to the created attribute and select the created preset.

Use the preset

When the Attribute is added to a class or directly to a DAM-File, it will be displayed like other attributes at the DAM-File. Checkout the file and then you can start cropping your image based on the aspect ratio selected in your attribute settings.

After selecting the part of your image you want to crop, save with ‘OK’ and store the file (checkin).
Downloading / exporting the file with the created preset will then download / export the cropped image.

Custom aspect ratio

Predefined aspect ratios are set in the value list ‘SAWSConnectorCropImageRatio’.

You can create your own aspect ratios here.
Important: The external key must be the calculated value of the aspect ratio.
Example: For a 16:9 format the external key must be 1.77777778 (Length / Heigh: 16/9=1.77777778)
